Military weapons were found during construction on a house in Joshua Tree.
On Tuesday morning (December 26) just before noon, County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of possible military ordnances found during home construction in the 62000 block of Crestview Drive in Joshua Tree.
Deputies report that they positively identified the objects as ordnances, which is a broad term for military weapons, ammunitions, and explosives. The Sheriff’s Department did not provide further details as to the type of ordnances found at the construction site.
The County Sheriff’s Bomb/Arson Division and the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal team responded, and Deputies report that the Marine team was able to remove the ordnances from the site.
No injuries were reported, and no further military equipment or ordnances were located.
