Military service members and their families who are victims of domestic violence or sexual assault have access to free legal advice and representation. The Victims’ Legal Counsel provides confidential advice, counseling, and referrals for crime victims, and can help victims obtain a military or civilian protective order. VLC services are available to active duty service members, reservists serving on active duty, retirees, and their military dependents. In addition, all Department of Defense employees who are the victims of sexual assault qualify for VLC assistance.
