MILD EARTHQUAKE RATTLES THE LANDERS AREA LAST NIGHT

A light earthquake rattled the Landers area last night. Sheriff’s dispatchers said there were no reports of damage or other problems. The magnitude-3.8 quake struck at 8:57 p.m. Thursday, in a sparsely settled area near Happy Trail and Adams Road, roughly 1 1/2 miles northeast of 247 and Linn Road, according to the US Geological Survey. The epicenter is 13 miles north of Yucca Valley and 23 miles east of Big Bear City.
