Mil-Tree, a non-profit organization that brings military veterans and civilians together through arts and dialog, is holding a dinner and book reading this Saturday. Managing editor Tami Roleff has more information about the event….
Two authors will read from their books at an event sponsored by Mil-Tree. Carla Sameth’s book, “One Day on the Gold Line,” is a memoir written in essays about a lesbian Jewish single mother who is raising a black son in Los Angeles. Francis Moss of Joshua Tree will read from his book “Losing Normal,” about an autistic boy who knows something bad is coming out of the big screen in his special needs class. Dinner will be lasagna—vegetarian or meat—salad, and dessert at the Country Kitchen in Joshua Tree. Tickets are $25 for dinner and the reading; $10 for just the reading, and proceeds go to support Mil-Tree. The dinner starts at 6:30 and the reading is at 7:30 p.m.
