It’s going to be a big build – like an old-fashioned barn raising. Its a Community Potting Shed, Mil-Tree’s next project, and it’s in partnership with the Joshua Tree Folk School at the Joshua Tree Retreat Center. Here’s reporter Mike Lipsitz with the particulars…
Veterans, active duty, and civilians aim to work together three weekends in June. They’re building a potting shed adjacent to a future community garden at the Joshua Tree Retreat Center. It happens from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday and Sunday, June 12 and 13, June 19 and 20, and June 26 and 27. Get to know new neighbors and make new friends at this Covid-aware, outdoor project. Families are welcome, but this is not a project for small children. Mil-Tree’s mission is to bring veterans, active duty, and civilians together to help transform the wounds of war.
