“Midsummer Mandala” is the new exhibit at the Art Queen East Village Gallery. The show features multi-media works by local artist Valerie Davis. Her works use contrasting precise geometry with organic forms and textures to initially appear abstract, then reveal figurative elements. Several of her mandalas, as well as 3D selenite piece, can be seen on the gallery’s window display. The gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekends and most weekdays. The show runs through August 31. The gallery is located at 61855 Twentynine Palms Highway in Joshua Tree.
