A Yucca Valley girl was arrested early Sunday morning after she stabbed a nurse at mental health walk-in clinic in Yucca Valley. The 17-year-old girl, whose name was not released by the Sheriff’s Department, told the deputy she went to the Crisis Walk-In Center in the 55400 block of Santa Fe Trail in Yucca Valley because she felt like harming herself. The deputy’s report states that the girl took a ballpoint pen and hid it in her clothing, then waited until the male nurse fell asleep. She then stabbed the nurse in the neck with the pen, narrowly missing his jugular. After an investigation, the girl was arrested for investigation of attempted murder and taken to Arrowhead Medical Center for a psychiatric evaluation.
