Memorial services have been announced for community icon, JB Carrol. JB Carrol passed away on October 15, 2021, just 18 days shy of his 100th birthday. JB was born in 1921 and came to Twentynine Palms after becoming a pilot instructor following World War II where he served in the Army Air Corps. Once in the desert, he fell in love with his future wife, Lois, and they tied the knot in 1943 at Little Church of the Desert – making them the first couple to be married in the first church in Twentynine Palms. The Carrols went on to be community figures through their business, Sunshine Realty. One of JB’s most unique accomplishments was his blood donations, which totaled over 24 gallons of blood donated.
Services for JB Carrol will be held at Little Church of the Desert in Twentynine Palms on October 31 at 1 p.m., followed by a 100th birthday celebration in memory of JB Carrol in the church’s community hall.
