Melissa Bond appointed to MUSD Area 1 Trustee seat

At a special meeting last Friday, June 13, the Morongo Unified School District Board of Education voted to appoint Melissa Bond to fill the vacant trustee seat for Area 1.

With over thirty years of experience with MUSD teaching K-3 students at Friendly Hills Elementary, Melissa Bond’s extensive knowledge of the District, combined with her lifelong commitment to teaching, make her a valuable addition to the Board of Education. 

While thanking everyone for their support, Bond added, “I am excited and honored to have the opportunity to represent and give back to the Morongo Unified School District community.”

Bond’s appointment to the Area 1 Trustee seat follows the resignation of former Trustee Karalee Hargrove, who stepped down from the Board last May. Bond will serve through December 2026, after which the seat will be placed on the ballot for another two-year elected term.
