MEET YOUR MAC MEMBER MARY HELEN TUTTLE

We continue our series, “Meet the MAC,” short profiles of the members of the Municipal Advisory Council who are appointed by the County Supervisor to bring him the concerns of residents in unincorporated areas of the Morongo Basin. Today, reporter Dan Stork profiles Mary Helen Tuttle…

Mary Helen Tuttle, a 15-year full-time resident of Copper Mountain Mesa following 10 years spent building her house there, has been the treasurer of the Copper Mountain Mesa Community Association for 10 years, where she also organizes the monthly fundraising breakfast and the monthly bingo game. She’s been a Joshua Tree Rotary Club member for 13 years, including a recent stint as president. Her concern with the Copper Mountain Mesa community is the lack of access to Community Development Block Grants in the unincorporated areas. For the Basin as a whole, she is concerned about homelessness, and the lack of accessible necessary services needed by the homeless to get from one day to the next.
