Tax revenues for the half percent Measure Y sales tax for 2018-2020 budgets are projected to be $1.76 million and $1.795 million. The Yucca Valley Revenue Measure Oversight Commission will meet tonight to discuss spending that money. As directed by the town council, the commission will be asked to allocate a major portion of the revenue for public safety. Approximately 40 percent will be allocated to infrastructure projects, although it may not all be spent in a given year. About $50,000 will be allocated to quality of life in the town, including $35,000 for senior services, which will provide for a half-time staff member and operating supplies. In addition, funds are expected to be shifted from the Yucca Valley pool to the Senior Center beautification project. The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. In the Cholla Room at the Yucca Valley Community Center.
