MDLT hosting public lands advocacy training workshops starting this week

The Morongo Basin is situated in the middle of thousands of miles of public land, and if you want to learn how to advocate for those lands the Mojave Desert Land Trust (MDLT) is holding four virtual workshops.
Participants will be trained in the basics of advocacy, receive an overview of public lands policy, and learn how to meet with an elected official or other decision-maker. By completion, participants will be equipped with the tools and knowledge to attend their first advocacy meeting.
Sessions will be divided into Advocacy 101 and 102 segments, each an hour long. Advocacy 101 will feature a beginner’s introduction to advocacy and policy while Advocacy 102 will dive into the specific issues threatening our local public lands and give you the opportunity to hone your skills in a mock congressional meeting.
The first Advocacy 101 class is Wednesday (1/7) and you can RSVP here:

Advocacy 102 is being held on Friday (1/9):
