Morongo Basin residents can expect more sound coming from the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center beginning today (October 8). The noise comes from increased training as Marines and Sailors are participating in the Assault Support Training Three (AST-3) exercise aboard the base. This exercise is being done in addition to the Service Level Training exercise that began earlier this week.
This exercise is being conducted as a part of the Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) 1-22 course and is vital for the training of pilots, aircrew and ground forces who will be called on to execute Non-Combatant Evacuations in time of crisis.
