Practices for the Morongo Basin Youth Soccer Association have been rescheduled to start the week of March 21, as coaches continue to be sought. The MBYSA Board of Directors met Thursday (March 10) night to discuss preparations for the upcoming Spring season. After reviewing the registration count, the board unanimously decided to postpone practices by a week, in order to seek enough coaches to accommodate the over 300 players.
Though positions are available for all divisions, divisions U6 and U8 are in most need of coaches. The non-competitive divisions are ideal for new coaches and come with the full support of the MBYSA board and other coaches to help walk through the coaching experience.
Registrations will be accepted throughout the week leading up to practices, however, the board urges volunteers to register before Tuesday (March 15) online at mbysasoccer.org. In addition to registering, coaches will need to be live-scanned prior to beginning practices and must be 16 years old or older.
