The Morongo Basin Transit Authority Board of Directors will meet in closed session at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 28, to discuss anticipated litigation and to conference with labor negotiators. The board will meet in regular session at 5 p.m., at which time it will recognize its employee of the quarter. Under new business, the directors will be asked to approve a resolution from the San Bernardino Association of Governments on unmet needs. Directors will hear a presentation on the Joshua Tree National Park transit plan, before discussing the 2016-17 draft budget. And finally, the board will authorize staff to award a contract for buying a new vehicle. The meeting will be held at the MBTA Operations Center on Verbena Road in Joshua Tree.
The Twentynine Palms Cemetery board of trustees will hold its regular meeting 11 a.m. Thursday, April 28. Among the items on the agenda are a review of the preliminary budget, selection of a date in June for job description review, selection of an auditor, and reviewing estimates for tree trimming, re-keying doors, and electrical upgrades. The cemetery is located at 5350 Encelia Avenue in Twentynine Palms.
