The Morongo Basin Transit Authority, the MBTA, named a new general manager at their meeting yesterday. Reporter Mike Lipsitz files this report… At last night’s meeting of the Morongo Basin Transit Authority, the board bid farewell to outgoing general manager Joe Meer who has been in the driver’s seat there for 14 years. Also last night, the board promoted operations manager Mark Goodale to take over as general manager. Goodale was selected from among a nationwide pool of applicants. He has been with the MBTA since May 2008. Outgoing Meer will remain affiliated with the Transit Authority in a part time position as director of procurement while he seeks a masters degree.
