MAY MEETING TRANSITION JOSHUA TREE

If you enjoy eating, learning about good food, and meeting new people—and who doesn’t—the Transition Joshua Tree local food program offers a free, educational event every month. Reporter Mike Lipsitz says Sunday’s program will feature the foods of Thailand…
Transition Joshua Tree holds its community dinner and produce giveaway on Sunday, May 21 from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Community United Methodist Church East Parkway in Joshua Tree. This is vegetarian themed event featuring the food of Thailand. The demonstration garden will be open for viewing and recipes are available to take home, as well as fresh produce from the garden and the market. The goal of the Joshua Tree Local Food Program is to provide fresh and local vegetables to supplement other food assistance programs and to educate the community about growing, storing and cooking fresh food. This is a no waste event. Please bring your own forks, plates and cups in order to minimize impact to our local landfill. Contact [email protected] to donate or volunteer.
