Visitors to Cathedral City, take note. The Cathedral City Council voted unanimously Wednesday night (August 11) to implement a citywide mask mandate, which will require masks to be worn in all indoor public settings. The mandate also requires patrons to indoor dining at restaurants and bars to provide proof of a COVID-19 vaccination. Unvaccinated patrons must show proof of a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours or their arrival. Patrons may remove their masks while receiving services at indoor businesses such as dental offices and salons and masks will not be required outdoors unless in a public setting where safe social distancing is not possible. The order comes just days after the City of Palms Springs implemented a nearly identical order for businesses and gatherings. The new order takes place in three weeks.
