MARTIN LUTHER KING JUNIOR DAY CELEBRATED MONDAY IN TWENTYNINE PALMS

A celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. will be held Monday, January 18, in Twentynine Palms. The theme this year is the Black National Anthem, “Life Every Voice and Sing.” The day will start with a walk at 8 a.m. from Little Church of the Desert, 6079 Adobe Road, to Palms Baptist Church, 5285 Adobe Road, where a service will follow at 9 a.m. Featured speakers include Pastor Gary Brooks, Pastor Melvin Hagan, Pastor Mary Anderson, Bishop Perry Ford, and Twentynine Palms Mayor Dan Mintz. Music will be provided by the Spirit and Truth Worship Team, Dwayne Anderson, the Twentynine Palms Community Choir, and the Luminators. Lunch will be provided after the service.
