Tour the desert night sky this Saturday at Sky’s the Limit Observatory and Nature Center. Rebecca Havely shares what to expect at the viewing…
Enjoy using the variety of telescopes set up by volunteers on the winding sidewalks at Sky’s the Limit; or bring your own binoculars and scopes. The free star party takes place on Saturday, April 27, from 8:30 p.m. till about 10:30 p.m., but you may come when you can and leave when you want. Mars and many galaxies will be visible, as well as well as a brilliant globular cluster and several constellations. Dress for unpredictable desert weather and bring chairs, snacks, and water. Please use only parking lights as you approach the dome and bring a red flashlight to preserve night vision.
Sky’s the Limit Observatory is located at 9697 Utah Trail in Twentynine Palms, just outside the main, north entrance to Joshua Tree National Park.
