MARINE TRAINING MAY BRING SOME ADDITIONAL NOISE THIS WEEKEND

Marines from the Twentynine Palms Combat Center will be using the controlled firing area (CFA) during a training exercise starting today (November 16) through Sunday, November 18. Controlled firing activity may include small arms, mortars and/or artillery that are suspended on notice when non-military aircraft approach the airspace. CFAs are not depicted on aeronautical charts or published to Notices to Airmen because the Combat Center Range Control will terminate the activities when required to prevent endangering non-participating aircraft. Depending on atmospheric conditions and cooler temperatures, the sounds from the training may be amplified throughout the local area.
