MARINE KILLED IN CABAZON MOTORCYCLE CRASH IDENTIFIED

The Riverside County Coroner’s office has finally released the identity of a Marine stationed at the Combat Center who was killed in a motorcycle crash November 6. According to the CHP, Danny Tran, 19, of Florida, was riding a blue 2009 Yamaha motorcycle eastbound on Interstate 10 shortly before 1 a.m. Tran was in the slow lane and had just passed under the Main Street bridge in Cabazon. The CHP says that due to his high rate of speed, he was unable to maintain control of the bike as he negotiated a sweeping left curve in the freeway. The motorcycle left the freeway and traveled down a southern embankment, through the freeway perimeter fence, and onto Railroad Avenue. Tran was thrown from the bike and sustained fatal injuries. Alcohol or drugs have not been ruled out as contributing factors to the crash. Danny Tran was a private first class attending Marine Corps Communications-Electronics School at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center.
