Despite rumors to the contrary, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center is celebrating the 248th birthday of the founding of the Marine Corps.
The cancelation of certain overseas events related to the Marine Corps Ball has led to false rumors about the full cancelation of all events related to the celebration. Z107.7 even erroneously reported yesterday that certain local events had been canceled.
Representatives from the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center confirmed to Z107.7 that no local events have been cancelled this year. This year, plan to attend the center’s Birthday Pageant Celebration on Thursday, November 9 at Lance Cpl. Torrey L. Gray Field.
The event will include a historical uniform pageant and the traditional cake cutting ceremony.
This free event is open to authorized base patrons and begins at 10 a.m. on November 9.
