MARINE ARRESTED AFTER THEFT AT BASE EXCHANGE

A Twentynine Palms Marine was arrested Tuesday morning, accused of stealing more than $2000 worth of electronics items and games. According to a Sheriff’s report, Private First Class Blake Land, 24, a crewman with the 3rd Light Armored Recon Battalion, was in the Twentynine Palms Marine Base exchange about 11 a.m. when the store’s loss prevention personnel said he concealed game CDs and a laptop and left the store without paying for them. The report states that Land had allegedly stolen other electronic items from the store over the past several days. Blake Land was arrested for investigation of felony commercial burglary, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $25,000.
