Volunteers are still needed to help with Mara’s Christmas Wish, the annual free Christmas Day dinner in Yucca Valley. If you’re interested in volunteering, weekly planning meetings are held at the Yucca Valley Community Center on Tuesday nights at 6:30 p.m. Help is especially needed to decorate the community center on December 22 and 23, to set up and serve food on Christmas Day, and to clean up on December 26. In addition, county firefighters are accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys at Walmart from 10 to 4 on Saturdays through December 22, and Morongo Basin Ambulance employees are accepting toy donations at Walmart on Saturdays through December 23 from 9 to 3.
