A Palm Springs man was struck and killed on the highway in Joshua Tree Monday night (September 26).
According to CHP investigators at about 9:15 PM a Honda Civic heading westbound on Highway 62 through Joshua Tree struck a man near El Reposo Street. Witnesses told the CHP that the man was entering the roadway and punching cars and screaming.
The man was announced dead at the scene and the identity is being held pending notification of the next of kin.
The 31 year-old driver from Las Vegas stayed at the crash scene and cooperated with officers.
The crash is still under investigation and it is unknown if alcohol or drugs was a factor in the incident.
