Victor Valley Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a drive-by shooting in Johnson Valley in the early morning hours Friday. At 12:13 a.m., an unknown make or model of an SUV-type vehicle was following a car eastbound on Old Woman Springs Road. As the vehicles approached Lafon Road, unknown suspects fired several rounds from the SUV into the lead car; the 26-year-old male passenger was struck by a bullet. The SUV fled and was not located by deputies. The victim was transported by Morongo Basin Ambulance to a landing zone and then flown to a trauma hospital.
