MAN PEPPER SPRAYED AFTER HE ATTEMPTS TO KICK OUT PATROL CAR WINDOW

A Los Angeles man is accused of felony vandalism after he tried to kick his way out of a Sheriff’s patrol car following an arrest for violating a restraining order. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies were called to the 61500 block of Division Street about 11 a.m. when Nathaniel Forrest, 31, “busted” his way into a home, in violation of a domestic restraining order. Deputies determined that Forrest had a no-bail arrest warrant out of Los Angeles, and handcuffed him and put in the back seat of the patrol car. The report states that Forrest began kicking the rear passenger window, banged his head against the window, and was spitting. Forrest continued to attempt to kick out the window even after being hobbled, at which time the deputy sprayed him with pepper spray. After booking Nathaniel Forrest in the Morongo Basin Jail for his no-bail warrant, the deputy discovered that the patrol car’s rear door would not close, and he was subsequently arrested for investigation of vandalism as well, with a bail of $25,000.
