MAN KILLED WHILE CROSSING HIGHWAY IN YUCCA VALLEY TUESDAY MORNING

A man crossing the Highway in Yucca Valley was struck and killed by a motorist early this morning. The pedestrian was crossing State Route 62 at Barberry at about 5:15 am when he was hit in the number 1 lane by a westbound Toyota Corolla. The driver immediately pulled over to render aid and contact emergency responders who declared the man dead at the scene. Westbound lanes are closed as the investigation continues and traffic is being detoured. Drivers can use Onaga Trail or Sunnyslope Avenue to avoid the scene.
