The California Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help in locating a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run in Twentynine Palms. On Thursday, about 2:50 p.m., a 22-year-old man was underneath his vehicle checking for possible damage on the right shoulder of Meldora Avenue, north of Indian Trail in Twentynine Palms. While he was under his vehicle, a passing SUV ran over his legs that were sticking out from under the vehicle. The SUV is described as a newer model, small, sporty, and black with unknown dealer license plates. The SUV continued south on Meldora Avenue to the stop sign and turned westbound on Indian Trail. Anyone with information on the vehicle and driver should call the CHP office at 760-366-3707.
