The Yucca Valley man who was injured last week in an off-road motorcycle accident in Yucca Valley was arrested Saturday, accused of false imprisonment. Last Wednesday, Kyle Brown, 26, was riding an off-road motorcycle, later determined to be stolen, westbound on Sunnyslope Drive about 4 a.m. when he rode straight into sign posts instead of making the turn onto Sage Avenue. Brown was not wearing a helmet and suffered head injuries. He was taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs. After being released from the hospital, Brown had nowhere to stay, and so he went to a hotel in the 56500 block of 29 Palms Highway in Yucca Valley on Saturday. While he was there, a female friend went to check on him. Brown and the woman started arguing, during which time he wouldn’t let her leave his room. He also took her phone and broke it so she couldn’t call for help. The woman finally managed to get out shortly before 10:30 Saturday night and went to a gas station across the street to call for help. Brown had left the hotel room by the time deputies arrived, but they were able to locate him a short time later. Kyle Brown was arrested for investigation of false imprisonment. He was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $50,000. Deputies are also conducting an investigation into the stolen off-road bike and will forward a report to the District Attorney’s office for possible charges. According to the Sheriff’s Department, Kyle Brown has a prior history of grand theft auto and parole violations.
