MAN HELD AFTER TRYING TO BREAK IN TO THE HUMANE SOCIETY ANIMAL SHELTER

A transient was arrested Monday morning after he attempted to break in to the Morongo Basin Humane Society animal shelter. According to a Sheriff’s report, workers at the shelter in the 4600 block of Sun View Road called the Sheriff’s Department at 11:23 to report that a former volunteer, identified as Ronald Ludwig, 56, was trying to get into the facility. They later said that Ludwig had gotten into a kennel with a dog, and then went into a doggy pool, and that he looked like he was high on drugs. They then said Ludwig had left the shelter, but returned a few minutes later. When deputies arrived, Ludwig allegedly fought with deputies. Ronald Ludwig was arrested for investigation of resisting arrest, and for his no bail warrants for battery, resisting arrest, and vandalism, and booked into the Morongo Basin Jail.
