A Victorville man convicted of robbing four businesses in Yucca Valley and Twentynine Palms two years ago, was sentenced Friday to 22 years in state prison. In February 2015, Ramirez Brown, 37, who has ties to the area, robbed a smoke shop on Adobe Road, a liquor store in the Historic Plaza, and a check-cashing business on Adobe Road in Twentynine Palms. In March 2015, Brown robbed a check-cashing business in the Vons shopping center in Yucca Valley. At each business, Brown showed a semi-automatic handgun and demanded money. Brown was arrested in April 2015.
