MAN FOUND STANDING IN HIGHWAY BOOKED FOR WARRANTS

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Friday evening after he was found standing in the middle of the highway pointing his finger at passing vehicles. According to a Sheriff’s report, Edward Berry, 36, was standing in the highway in front of the California Welcome Center in Yucca Valley about 7:45 p.m., acting as though he was shooting a gun at passing cars. Passing motorists reported Berry had no gun, but were concerned that he would get hit by passing cars. Berry told deputies he had drunk two quarts of tequila. Edward Berry was arrested for investigation being drunk and disorderly, and on two warrants for using a controlled substance. He was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail and is being held on $50,000 for the two warrants.
