A man escaped injury Wednesday morning when he crashed his car in Yucca Valley and it flipped onto its roof and slid about 500 feet. According to a Sheriff’s report, the unidentified driver told Sheriff’s deputies that about 5:20, he was driving eastbound on Highway 62 just east of Sage Avenue when he reached down for a tissue. When he looked back up, he realized he was headed straight for the curb but could not correct his car in time. He hit the concrete Edison vault on the southwest corner of Sage, which caused his vehicle to flip onto its roof. The car slid across the highway, before stopping in the westbound lane of the highway. Responding paramedics said the driver was uninjured.
