Man enters Yucca Valley gym and is arrested for allegedly starting fights with members

After allegedly punching a customer at a Yucca Valley gym, a man was taken into custody and started fighting with deputies at the Morongo Basin Jail.

Around Noon on Friday (March 28), County deputies say that 42 year-old Michael Putz entered 5 Star Gym in Yucca Valley even though he’s not a member. They say Putz was acting irrationally and began starting fights with gym members, punching one of them and injuring the customer’s lip. A witness at the gym called 911 and deputies responded and took Putz into custody. The victim declined medical attention.

While booking Putz at the Morongo Basin Jail deputies say he physically resisted and fought with deputies.

Michael Putz was arrested on suspicion of battery with serious bodily injury and resisting an executive officer and is being held at the West Valley Detention Center on $40,000 bail.
