MAN CHALLENGES DEPUTY TO FIGHT AFTER YUCCA VALLEY TRAFFIC STOP

A man was arrested after he resisted arrest during a traffic stop. According to a Sheriff’s report, Michael Gill, 46, was stopped by a deputy in the 7800 block of Valley Vista Avenue in Yucca Valley about 2:45 a.m. Sunday morning for rolling through a stop sign. The report states the deputy believed Gill had been drinking, and was starting field sobriety tests when Gill allegedly swore at the deputy, then challenged him to fight. As the deputy attempted to handcuff Gill, Gill began to struggle. Michael Gill was finally restrained and arrested for investigation of resisting arrest. He was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $50,000.
