MAN ARRESTED IN YUCCA VALLEY FOR ATTEMPTED KIDNAPPING, ASSAULTING A DEPUTY

A man was arrested in Yucca Valley Tuesday, accused of attempted kidnapping, resisting arrest, and a parole violation. On September 18, Bryan Taylor, 37, of Michigan was arguing with a woman in the 7600 block of Acoma Trail in Yucca Valley. The woman said Taylor threw rocks at her, punched her in the head and tried to make her get into a car against her will. She called for help but Taylor fled before deputies arrived. On Tuesday, October 9, about 10:12 a.m., deputies made a pedestrian check in the same neighborhood of a man who matched the suspect’s description of the attempted kidnapping last month. During the contact, Taylor assaulted the deputy and then fled on foot. During the chase, the deputy was bitten by a dog on his leg and injured his hand on a chain link fence. Deputies established a perimeter and called in a Sheriff’s helicopter to assist in the search. Deputies then heard residents calling for help in the 56000 block of Navajo Trail. Taylor had entered the occupied home through an unlocked door and was hiding inside when residents discovered him. He then fled through the back door of the house and ran through several back yards before trying to hide underneath a car in the backyard of a home in the 56100 block of Taos Trail. Deputies found Taylor—who was also in possession of methamphetamine—and took him into custody without further incident. Bryan Taylor was arrested for investigation of attempted kidnapping, resisting arrest, and for his parole violation in Michigan, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000 plus $250,000 for his Michigan parole violation. The deputy was treated for his injuries at Hi-Desert Medical Center and released.
