Man arrested for suspicion of firing gun at occupied home in Joshua Tree while “target shooting”

A man was arrested for shooting at an inhabited dwelling in Joshua Tree.

On Monday (June 16) at around 7:00 p.m., neighbors near the 6100 block of Terrace Drive in Joshua Tree called 911 to report shooting in the area. San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area and they say that a short-term vacation rental guest was target shooting with a pistol. Deputies say that one of Jack Issa, 31, fired bullets that went into a home about 500 feet away from where he was shooting. No one was injured.

Deputies say they recovered the pistol and bullet casings and took Issa into custody.

Jack Issa was arrested for investigation into shooting at an inhabited dwelling and willful discharge of a firearm with gross negligence.

He was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail and has since been released on bail.
