MAN ARRESTED AFTER FIGHT AT YUCCA VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL

A Flamingo Heights man was arrested Monday afternoon after a fight with security guards at Yucca Valley High School. According to a sheriff’s report, Edward Marquez, 19, was seen riding a bicycle through the school campus and was asked to leave by school staff. Marquez left, but came back via another entrance, where he was confronted by a security guard. The report states Marquez started arguing with the guard, who called for back-up, at which time Marquez turned around to leave. The guard then allegedly taunted Marquez, and the argument turned physical with the two men pushing each other, until Marquez allegedly punched the guard in the face. The back up security guards arrived and restrained Marquez, and found a knife in his pocket. Edward Marquez was arrested for investigation of threatening a public officer, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $25,000.
