MAN ARRESTED AFTER WALKING INTO TRAFFIC IN YUCCA VALLEY

A Yucca Valley man who walked into traffic on Highway 62, nearly causing numerous traffic accidents, was arrested Friday morning. According to the Sheriff’s Department, deputies were conducting routine patrols in Yucca Valley when a man, later identified as 58-year-old Henry Simmons, walked into traffic on the highway at Dumosa Avenue about 10:17 a.m. Deputies said Simmons displayed erratic behavior and they removed him from the highway. Suspecting that Simmons was under the influence of a controlled substance, they searched him and found drug paraphernalia in his possession. Henry Simmons was arrested on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia, taken to the Morongo Basin Jail where he was cited and released.
