A traffic stop in Twentynine Palms Saturday resulted in an arrest for bringing contraband into jail. According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy contacted James McCance, 25, near Adobe Road and Amboy Road just before 6 p.m. Saturday. McCance had several warrants for his arrest, and as he was being booked into the Morongo Basin Jail for his warrants for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine, failure to appear in court, and violation of his parole, deputies found that he was attempting to smuggle contraband into jail. Deputies added a new charge of bringing narcotics or alcohol into jail to his warrants, with his bail set at $25,000.
