MAN ACCUSED OF THREATENING A YUCCA VALLEY WITNESS

A Palm Desert man was arrested Sunday, accused of threatening a victim who was set to testify against him in a trial. According to a Sheriff’s report, the victim called deputies about 8:30 p.m. Sunday, reporting that someone was going through a vehicle in the 7100 block of Sage Avenue in Yucca Valley. When a deputy arrived, the victim said that Christopher Segura, 35, had been keeping her against her will and assaulting her for two days. She told the deputy that Segura told her she had better not show up in court, or else to recant her statements against him. The victim has an open spouse abuse case against Segura, and she said she felt threatened by him. Christopher Segura was arrested for investigation of attempting to dissuade a witness, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $100,000.
