MAN ACCUSED OF SHOOTING AND KILLING HIS DAUGHTER HAS DIED

Z107.7 News has learned that the man accused of shooting and killing his daughter in North Joshua Tree early last month died of his gunshot wound. Just before 2 p.m. November 4, Teri Weller, 63, heard a shot inside a house in the 4400 block of Sunever Road. When she went inside, she found her sister, Geri Weller, 63, suffering from a gunshot wound. Her father, Gene Weller, 89, was also in the room armed with a handgun; Teri was able to wrestle the gun away from him. Moments later, Dondi Moore, 51, entered the room and warned Teri that Gene had armed himself with a second handgun. Almost immediately, Gene shot Moore; Teri, fearing for her safety, then shot Gene. Gene Weller died of his injuries on November 6. The completed investigation will be sent to the district attorney’s office for review.
