MAJOR WATER OUTAGE IN YUCCA VALLEY LAST NIGHT

Hundreds of residents in the Country Club neighborhood in Yucca Valley were without water for a few hours last night. A large leak occurred near the Hawk’s Landing Golf Course about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday night. The portion of Martinez Trail in front of the golf course and mobile home park has been under construction for the new sewer line. Water was restored to most customers by 10 p.m., while residents in the Country Club Mobile Home Estates were connected a little later. The Hi-Desert Water District said after a major leak, residents may see brown or dirty water coming from their faucets until the water district can flush all the debris out of the water lines. HDWD’s operations department has stated the water is safe to drink but recommends that customers use their own discretion based on the clarity of their water.

The Hi-Desert Water District is working on the sewer pipeline near Hawk’s Landing Golf Course, where a major water leak developed Tuesday night.
