At last night’s meeting, the board authorized management to begin the application process for a 15-year, $3,000,000 loan at 3.85% interest. The loan will be used to begin the district’s capital improvement or water main replacement program. Also last night, the Board authorized purchase of ten pieces of heavy equipment also in connection with the capital replacement program. Directors also named the Mary Orton Company to complete a strategic plan for the district, approved new Monday through Thursday office hours which will be7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., beginning August first. The board also gave the green light to subscribe to a new mapping system, and amended the general manager’s employment contract with vacation and medical enhancements. And as a reminder, the district’s low-income assistance program kicks off August first; pick up an application at the district office on Chollita Road in Joshua Tree.
