0

Residents of the Combat Center in Twentynine Palms and surrounding areas will hear a lot of noise and activity Friday, April 20, as Marines practice a non-combatant evacuation exercise. Marines will simulate the evacuation of civilians from a potentially hostile area during an emergency situation. Helicopter and tilt-rotor flights will be conducted over the Combat Center, with multiple landings onto Lance Corporal Torrey L. Gray Field, the Del Valle track and field, and Range 220 between 3 and 10 p.m. Friday. Depending on atmospheric conditions, the sounds from the training may be amplified throughout the local area.

To submit a sound report from the exercise, call 760-830-9222, or email [email protected] or go to
