MAJOR COLLISION IN LANDERS SENDS TWO TO HOSPITAL

A major traffic collision in Landers last week sent two victims, one from Yucca Valley and one from Landers, to the hospital with significant injuries. On January 7, Sheriff Deputies along with California Highway Patrol were dispatched to a major injury traffic collision on Highway 247 at approximately 6:30 p.m. Two vehicles were involved in a traffic collision resulting in significant injuries to both drivers and they were the sole occupants of each vehicle. The driver of the red Ford F250 pickup involved had stalled in the northbound lane of travel on Highway 247. The vehicle was facing west across the lane and experiencing mechanical issues. It was at the same time that the driver of a gray Toyota Corolla was traveling northbound on Highway 247 and struck the Ford F250 on the driver’s side.

Both drivers sustained significant injuries and were taken to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment.
