MAC VOTES TO OPPOSE COMMERCIAL RENEWABLE ENERGY DEVELOPMENT

The Morongo Basin Municipal Advisory Council is now on record opposing any further development by utility companies of Southern California desert lands for renewable energy sources such as solar. Voting unanimously and without discussion, the MAC last night approved a resolution calling on the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors to prohibit such developments and to speak out against them. The issue has been under discussion in the wake of threats by the Trump administration to scrap a major Obama-era agreement shielding millions of California desert acres from development for renewable energy.
