LUCERNE VALLEY MAN KILLED IN 4TH OF JULY OFF-ROAD CRASH

An Independence Day death for a Lucerne Valley off-road rider. According to the county coroner’s office, Monday, July 4, at approximately 11:15 p.m., Antonio Contreras, a 28-year-old resident of Lucerne Valley, was operating a quad off-road vehicle in the area of Midway Avenue and Sunswept Drive in Lucerne Valley. For unknown reasons, Contreras lost control of the quad and was ejected. Paramedics from the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the scene and confirmed Antonio Contreras’ death. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
